Prologue:

It was a late fall day in the new lands Terrak. The country was still in its infancy, holding many mysteries and legends. One of which starts in a little machinist shop in the business area of a citadel city known as “The Kings Rock”.

The city itself was constructed smack in the middle of the forest and had a river that carved forest running through it as well. It was a beautiful town that originally served as an outpost of King Jericho the first and became the largest city in all the lands.

The land was still mostly undiscovered further west, and was waiting to be explored, and here in the largest city in a new world, a young man named Andre (who was named after a giant rumored to be living in a nearby mountain), lived with his older brother Blue (who his mother named for the beautiful music that was played the day he was born) and his younger sister Millae (which was a modification of the word Milady).

They worked with their father in one of the larger shops in town, and they made just about everything. Millae was best in weaponry. She was more than capable of crafting swords, war hammers, bows, and even cannons of a sort.

Blue specialized in agricultural items such as plows, axes, hoes, and horse plows. These were ordered more often than Millae's works but fetched a lower price.

And then there was Andre. Andre lived to tinker with the extreme and the strange. His works seemed to have no practical use but his father encouraged him anyway. They lived a happy life. It was until recently they had all been together.

A man interested in Andre's works came by and offered his father a deal. To let him take Andre in as an apprentice and he would give one gold coin up front and ten silvers plus a smaller percentage from whatever he made while under his guidance.

This seemed like a good idea, after all, most of what Andre made his father could never really see use for (and neither could anyone else) so it was either put into storage, scrapped or retooled into either Millae's or Blue's works.

Actually making some money off of them for change seemed like a fantastic opportunity. Andre was at a repair job with Blue at the time and the inventor wouldn't close the deal without his confirmation.

But as a parting offer, he told Andre's father “I'll leave to you one gold coin and Andre three more. If he can make it to my workshop in Port Baker to the north I will still take him in as my protégé and you will still be sent his earnings no strings attached.”

And so, this is where Andre's adventure begins and the story starts. With Andre about to leave the city of Kings Rock.

Part One: The Paper Route

"Are you ready to make the journey?" Andre's father asked looking at his son. “As ready as I'll be.” Andre replied. The two stood at the cities massive gates. The way to Port Baker was long and difficult, and there were two ways to go: the main highway known as route eighty-eight which would take (at best) a month by horse and then he'd spend another two days (at best) on a ship.

And then there was a detour road that moved with the land instead of cutting through the land called the “Paper Route”. It was a tougher route that had multiple town’s setup close by.

News traveled fast in between each and many mail runs went through the area along with merchants and tourists. So, it was unofficially deemed the Paper Route for its constant transfer of goods and information.

It would take longer but Andre could also make a little bit of extra money on his way there and maybe learn a thing or two so it seemed like a better investment.

“I wish you good luck and farewell Andre. We'll be here if anything happens.” His father said. “I'll think about you and everyone else while I'm gone.” Andre replied. The two hugged and Andre set off.

Andre took the paved roads of the main highways until he turned off towards the Paper Route. The sun was shining and there was a light breeze. Andre walked along the path large trees lining the path and a lake in the background-it was perfect.

Andre continued only seeing few and fewer people and more and more trees. As day turned to night Andre decided to camp underneath the stars. Reasonably he could only be a few miles away but he was feeling a bit adventures.

Andre walked around gathering sticks and creating a fire. He lit it with some flint from his bag and watched the flames dance upon the wood, slowly turning it to ash. It was enough to keep his attention, but he couldn't shake the feeling he was being watched.

Andre hated that feeling, of everyone watching him and now it felt as if a million eyes were watching him at that very moment. After about an hour with the feeling refusing to subside, Andre decided to just prop himself up against a tree and wait it out. As the minutes passed his eyes became heavy and he snapped in and out of sleep until his eyes went down and stayed down.

Andre slowly awoke that next morning the sunlight filtering through the leaves and into his eyes slowly bringing him to life. When Andre was fully awake saw a girl that seemed to be staring at him.

“Uhh... Hello, stranger?” Andre said to the young girl. She simply continued to stare at him intently studying him. “Anybody there? -Andre got up and start waving his hands in front of her- What's wrong which you?” Andre said confused by her lack of actions.

She continued staring never break eye contact. “Okay then do whatever you want, I don't care.” Andre said starting to get his things together. He reached down to pick up his bag and the girl stepped on his hand keeping him from proceeding.

“Excuse me but, I've been trying to have been kind to you but you seem to not have similar feelings.” Andre said letting the annoyance build through his voice. The girl suddenly let out an inhuman howl that rippled throughout the area.

Andre did his best to cover his ears as the sound felt near ear-shattering. “What are you?” Andre said with fear. “I'm going to be the last thing you see.” She said with a smile starting to line her face. It was at this moment Andre realized he wasn't in for a good time.

She let off his hand and he quickly moved back. “What's your problem?!” Andre yelled. In blink of an eye, the young girl changed into a giant canine animal bearing its fangs at him.

Andre quickly turned and run was strong but he wasn't used to running long distance and was still a way away from the next town. Andre refused to look back just focusing on what was ahead of him, afraid of what he might see.

A large shadow suddenly overtook Andre and as he looked up he saw her leaping over head cutting him off. Andre quickly turned around slipping a bit on the gravel/dirt road, right before she was able to snap him up into her mouth.

He went straight for his bag, bounding back and forth hoping to make himself a harder target to grab. Andre was suddenly tripped up by some unknown object and before he could as much as push himself back up off the ground he was pinned to it.

“And now you're mine.” She said laughing. Andre tried his best struggling to break himself loose but was unable to. She was so close to him he could feel her warm breath on his back and her cold eyes staring at him.

Andre despite the heavy weight against him pushed on struggling with his face in the dirt. “Yes, keep struggling. I'll remember that fight well after you’re gone.” She said running her tongue up his spine. Andre quivered under the foreign sensation. It was by no means enjoyable but Andre knew there would be more to come.

Then suddenly the weight was lifted off his back. When Andre turned around he saw that she was caught up in a net. He looked over to his left and saw a group of men wielding bows and swords.

Andre didn't care who they were, but he had still never been so happy in his life to see a group of strangers. “Thank you!” Andre yelled out of breath. It seemed as if the men had been ignoring Andre's presence up until then, enjoying the victory of their catch.

One of the six or so men walked towards Andre still with a grin of triumph on his face. “Hello friend! You were a great aid in capturing this vile beast. You were a fantastic distraction while we sat in wait.” The man said with a heavy accent.

It did cross Andre's mind that whatever tripped him up was their doing but in the end, it kept him alive so it worked out in the end. “May I be so intrusive as to ask for your name friend?” The man asked. “Andre Sky.” He said holding his hand out.

“I look forward to doing further business with you Mr. Sky.” He said shaking Andre’s hand. Right as he did Andre was struck from behind, and knocked out. When Andre awoke he was in a dark room unable to see anything.

He stood up and realized he was tied down to a small area. “Hello?!” Andre yelled. “We're alone. They threw you in here with me.” A familiar voice said in the darkness. “Stay away from me!” Andre yelled, shuffling back. “Wrong direction genius.” She said only closer now.

This time Andre turned around he saw the girl in her human form only now she was five or so years older than before. “They probably expected me to eat you or something, but I figured you'd be more useful in one piece.” She said. “Uh thanks, I guess?” Andre said puzzled.

“Yes, you should be thankful, but that's beside the point now. I need you to get this collar off me.” She said. “Does it have a lock on it? I think I would need a key for that?” Andre said trying to figure out where she was.

“It's locked with magic. You have to be human to open it.” She said like it should have been obvious. Andre finally found her and put his hand on the collar.

He was having trouble unlocking it and wasn't able to finish before he heard the sound of a heavy door open somewhere nearby. A low light slowly crept in illuminating the room. They both looked towards the light as they heard footsteps coming down a hall. “I need you to disappear human.” She said to Andre.

“What?” Andre said immediately afraid of what she was going to do. Her body suddenly exploded in size. Her body reverting to the creature from before. Andre was pushed back by the force of her expansion, sliding backwards across the cold stone floor.

The Andre noticed the collar change to match her size, something that caught his attention as some form of magic, of course, his attention was quickly drawn elsewhere as she opened her mouth wide and grabbed him. Andre was quickly shoved to the back of her mouth and swallowed sent down the tight tunnel covered from head to toe in saliva.

It wasn't long before it opened up depositing him into the waiting stomach below. The only evidence that Andre had ever been there was the rope that had limited his movement and the bandana that had been on his head.

The men walked in to see what they had perceived to be what they had expected to happen. “You owe me five silvers Zero, hah told you he'd be lunch before we got here.” A big brawny thug looking man said. A tall skinny man surveyed the scene.

“Gone.” He said looking between the giant canine in front of him and his partner. “Well on the bright side we don't have to feed it now.” The big man said. The big man left leaving the skinny man looking at her.

“But not dead?” He said noticing a twitching motion near her stomach. Andre had been completely unaware of what was happening and was more worried about his current situation. His was inside a giant wolf stomach and was still in danger of being digested.

Andre was unsure if he could trust her but he really didn't have much of a choice either. All was silent for a few minutes and Andre finally decided to speak up. “Hey! Can I come out now?” He shouted from his small “hideout” of sorts.

The stomach started contracting and expanding around him. Andre was suddenly pushed back up her throat and out her mouth. Spit-up on to the floor. Andre started trying to wipe off the salvia but stopped when he heard her giggling.

“I almost forgot you were still there. Now please get this collar off before I decide you've outlived your usefulness.” She said laughing though without giving the slightest hint that she was joking. Andre started to get her collar off but a thought crossed his mind: he was free. He didn't have to do anything.

“Well don't just stand there hurry up now. You haven't already forgotten who's in charge here? -A toothy grin overtook her face- You're not going to make me say please are you? Fine. Please?” She said like she was playing a game.

Andre wasn't sure what to do now. She gave him this strange feeling that he couldn't shake off. First, she was a murderous animal, next she was talking like she knew him? What was her deal? Instead of confusing himself with more questions, he chose to simply unlock her.

“See? Now that wasn't so hard, was it? And now I don't have to eat you, for now at least.” She said playfully. Andre mind was now trapped in a violent spasm of “why are you doing this to me”.

Noticing this, she continued to play with him by hip bumping him catching him off his guard. He fell to the ground right on his tail bone. She giggled walking towards the exit. “Since you we so eager to ask my names Tallianna.” She said glancing back at him.

“Andre.” He replied quickly composing himself and getting up. He followed her down the cavernous hall. She broke down the wooden door with ease and continued on. As soon as the gate came down light flooded their eyes blinding them both for a few seconds.

When their vision cleared, the tall man called “Zero” was looking at a painting in the rather fancy looking hallway. He looked at the duo no with a strange mask on his face. Tallianna leaped on top of the man pinning I him to ground. “Not so tough without your fancy weapons ha!” Tallianna said.

“Nothing is quite as it seems.” Zero said as his body disappeared into thin air. Tallianna felt something drop on her back. When she turned around she said the mysterious looking man on top of her. She went to bite him but he again disappeared reappearing next to Andre.

“Do you want to hear story kid?” Zero said looking at Andre. Before Andre could do anything Zero disappeared and Tallianna landed on top of him. “How does he do that?!” She said obviously very annoyed. Zero reappeared across the hall.

“My father was a first-generation Highwaymen. They rode across the lands catching bandit, saving maidens, and -he points at Tallianna- killing beast like you.” Zero said. Tallianna was about to pounce again but Zero threw a strange looking sphere at her.

It bounced of her head opened up into a miniature figure and exploded out into a huge dragon that took up the entire hallway. “My father was Ferguson the first Highwayman and I carry on the Legacy.” Zero said as the menacing creature closed in.

For the first time since she was a baby Tallianna felt small and helpless. “Now my father was a reasonable man so as he always said “Wanna make a deal?”” Zero said. Tallianna transformed into her human form, struggling to comprehend what just happened.

All the swagger had left Tallianna, she had been the top dog only a little while ago and now she was in the presence of a dragon easily big enough bit her in half. Zero again magically appeared in front of them.

“Now quite simply I cannot let you roam freely. You madam attacked this boy obviously with the intention of eating and killing him. It wouldn't be reasonable of me to assume you won't try it again. If I remember correctly your kind have a tendency of not letting your prey get away from you so easily, so you'd probably just would have led him out of here -and then eaten him on your way out the door. So, you come with me so that I can keep you in check, and I won't have to kill you demon.” Zero finished.

Tallianna knew she was cornered. There was an unwritten rule that if she let her prey (especially something as easy as Andre) get away she was less of a hunter, no unable to keep up with such a pathetic prey. She had not once let her quarry get away even when the humans came.

She had always adapted to the situation at hand but how did she get around this? She could always say she was keeping Andre as her little pet. It would give her a reason to keep him around and toying with him was entertaining enough. Besides this guy wouldn't be much fun to be around.

“Okay but under one condition.” Tallianna said. “Yes?” Zero asked. “I get to keep him.” Tallianna said pointing at Andre. “Hey I'm not an animal!” Andre yelled in protest. “How so?” Zero asked. “Like puppy.” Tallianna said smiling at Andre's discomfort. “

Deal.” Zero said. “Hey don't I get a say in this?!” Andre yelled. “Sure! You get to choose where we go next.” Tallianna said smiling. A small group of men came down the other end of the hallway right as they finished their deal.

“General Zero! A silent alarm was tripped by the prisoners! Do you already have the situation under control?” One of the men asked. The Dragon suddenly transformed back into a ball and Zero stood behind Andre and Tallianna having bound both of them.

“Of course, Daniels. I'll escort them both personally, to a grade three cell. Obviously, I was incorrect in my assumption that this was of reasonable strength to contain them and will now correct my mistake.” Zero said to the thug.

Zero pushed them both forward and they started walking down the touch lit hall passing multiple painting and tapestries. The men went back to their stations and Zero quietly escorted Andre and Tallianna out of the large facility.

They passed few guards who immediately stood to attention as they saw Zero walk by. Zero led the group through an auxiliary tunnel that dumped out into a lake. They walked in silence for most of the trip until they came to end of the tunnel.

The late afternoon sun reflected beautiful across the lakes calm surface beautiful. Andre wanted to stay at one of the town’s inn's but considering their third companions feeding tendencies it was set that they would sleep in the woods.

Andre made a small fire for light, Tallianna caught a few of the deer like creatures that inhabited the forest, and Zero simply stood by watching. Checking one of the four strange spheres he held with him. He also sat down a cube and a pyramid shaped capsule sitting next to him though they seemed to have emptiness about them.

“So, what are those little things on your belt?” Andre asked curiously. “My dad always called em' Caps. What he did was he found the biggest worst monsters he could find, and incapacitate it. He had this fancy device that fused an empty Cap with said monster and would lock it away.

Of course, he gave them the option to fight with him to earn their freedom but not many ever did. He only ever had about fifty total over the forty plus year's he worked and only about ten chose to become permanent partners out of the hundreds we captured.

-Zero held a blue sphere up and threw it at Andre who caught it in his palm- That's Typhoon, she's the dragon from earlier. She's young but she gets off well enough on size alone.” Zero said letting Andre examine the small sphere.

“You seemed a little too ready to leave that place. You obviously just doing it out of the “kindness of your heart” as you humans say seems unlikely.” Tallianna questioned.

“I am disapproving of the direction my friend has taken the group my father helped start. It was a clashing of ideas. I chose to take you because of what he had planned for you. It made the most sense to you free, if to do nothing else but shut down his plans for the time being and put my own into motion.” Zero said.

“And that would be?” Tallianna said questioningly. “For me to know and you to find out when I want you to.” Zero said. This ended the conversation, Zero going back to examining his “Caps” Andre eating and Tallianna sitting there staring at the fire.

Part 2: Brave Prey

Interestingly Tallianna didn't eat, simply watching from the side. “You're not going to eat?” Andre asked curiously. “No, I think I will wait. It will be all the more delicious when I'm absolutely starving for my quarry.” She said with her wolf like grin.

Andre felt something was up especially when Zero seemed to even be smiling. Like there was a joke he wasn't getting. The moon was now high in the sky. Zero had gone to sleep leaving Andre and Tallianna alone together.

Tallianna had moved uncomfortably close to Andre. Andre did his best to ignore her. “You know what?” Tallianna said to Andre. “What?” Andre replied politely. “I think I'm finally ready to eat.” Tallianna said.

“There still some meat left. I found some fruit if you want to try em’.” Andre offered. “Thanks for the offer but... I'm looking for something with a bit more kick.” Tallianna said. “What's “kick” mean?” Andre asked.

“I'm glad you asked!” Tallianna said enthusiastically. Andre felt the log he was sitting on move from under him. Tallianna was sitting on Andre's stomach. “I'll give you a head start if you want. Or you could just save me the trouble and surrender now?” Tallianna said feeling like she already knew the answer.

“I! I... surrender.” Andre said almost choking on his own words. Tallianna even seemed shocked by his words. She was disappointed by the fact he had indeed simply given up. It was obviously something hard for him to do but that wasn't an excuse in her mind.

“Have you really lost all your fight so easily? So disappointing, I honestly believed you'd be stronger. Even if you did get caught you would have gone down kicking and screaming. Isn't that how your Knights become so famous? Facing insurmountable odds, they died fighting. Though I assume I'm not worth for. I am just some demon monster that insists on following you around after all right?” Tallianna said sounding saddened.

“Well that's not what I meant! I-I... I just wanted... Weren't you not supposed to be killing people?” Andre said try to change the subject.

“Yes I am. I never said I was going to kill. I was just going have a snack till I could find something more benefiting to hunter like me. It's not worth eating if it won't put up a fight.” Tallianna said her mind seeming to wonder. She stood up moving back onto the log they had been on.

“Fine. Since you're just going to guilt trip me -Andre stood up- I guess I'll play your game.” Andre said reluctantly. “Fantastic!” She said completely changing her tone. Andre realized he had been played, check and mate.

“You get a fifteen-minute head start. Better hurry up, I would hope by now you understood what's at stake.” She said in a teasing manner. Andre quickly turned and ran, going into overdrive trying to get away. After what had felt like only a few short minutes Andre heard a wolf like howl and he knew the chase was on.

Andre continued running through the heavily wooded forest. The strong trees would slow her down, but would by no means stop her. Andre looked desperately for a strong shelter where he could weather Tallianna's rain.

He finally came to a small opening where the trees had seemed to have been cut down. Nearby he saw a hole in the side of a hill. He slid down his little rabbit hole right as Tallianna came stomping in.

Andre peaked out to see her sniffing around nearby. Tallianna knew he was nearby. She had tracked him with the greatest of ease and she knew she was right on top of him. She was honestly just taking her sweet time.

“Come on now! A brave knight like you wouldn't keep your pretty maiden waiting, would you? That's not very heroic or brave of you. Maybe you should just continue to hide till morn. Maybe you'll just hide in some hole like a rabbit.” She shouted aloud.

“Like a rabbit in his hole.” Tallianna thought looking towards a small opening in the hillside. She went right up to the opening and sat on top of it. Andre was caught off guard when all of the light suddenly vanished from his hiding spot.

“Oh if only my knight would reveal himself to me so I could give him his reward. Maybe a special kiss.” Tallianna said playfully. Andre knew he had been found but had expected as much. “Fine I'll come out!” Andre said regretfully.

Tallianna sat up and turned towards her prize as Andre crawled out of the hole he had shoved himself into. “Did you enjoy my little game?” Tallianna asked. “Did seem like much of a fair fight.” Andre mumbled. “Well with that attitude I was bound to win.” Tallianna said with intentionally false scorn.

“Yeah that's obviously the problem.” Andre said. “Are ready for your kiss fair knight?” Tallianna said. “Sure.” Andre said closing his eyes, waiting for the inevitable. Instead when he peeked an eye open and saw Tallianna in her human form giving him an actual kiss!

Only now did he really appreciate how beautiful she was when she wasn't trying to eat him, even if there were little details about her that made her seem more alien than the human this for was supposed to be. “Does this mean you're not going to eat me?” Andre asked hopefully.

“Now where would you get such an idea? That's just me telling you, I like you too much to digest you. Now who's to say I wasn't just tasting you? Maybe I just wanted to give you a consolation prize for your efforts.” Tallianna said giving a playful last glance before bursting back into her proper form.

Her mouth opened wide showing her shark-like teeth. She was careful in give Andre a bit of a “boost” into her maw. Andre landed face first into her squishy pink tongue, and was quickly wrapped up in the brightly colored flesh.

Tallianna squeezed him like a lollipop, she took in every bit of Andre she could before finally pushing him to the back of her mouth and swallowing. Andre was pulled down the slippery tunnel all the muscles around him squeezing him further into the dark abyss.

Andre finally reached his destination when the space opened up. He was pushed into the stomach and was finally allowed to rest. “You were amazing by the way.” Tallianna said rubbing her stomach.

“Oh really? And what do I taste like?” Andre said indulging her. She stood up and started walking back to their camp. “I can't really explain it. Your strange, but in a good way.” Tallianna said. “Well I'm glad you're enjoying yourself at my expense.” Andre said.

“Yes well that's how a game like this works isn't it? I'll make you a deal though. If you indulge me a bit I might let you go before I go to bed.” Tallianna said. “And how would I go about that?” Andre asked.

“Why don't you squirm around for a bit while you're there? Or not, it'll be just as fun to have you with me all night.” Tallianna suggested. Andre started doing his best to please her, rolling back and forth, kicking, and punching.

Tallianna was quite pleased as her stomach started growling and moaning with the prey inside her. It went on like that all the way back to the camp where Zero was tuning a guitar like instrument. He saw her coming but pretended not to notice.

“Back in my day son, man had to answer for the wicked that he done.” He sang almost as if directing it towards Tallianna. “Really? Well I am not a man and have done no wicked.” Tallianna said.

“Trust me, it works both ways. - Zero pulled a few chords on his guitar- I assume you had fun.” Zero said. “It was sufficient to keep me entertained.” Tallianna said. “How's Dre coping?” Zero asked. “Who?” Tallianna asked.

“Andre.” Zero said. “I may have unintentionally sat on him and now he's nothing more than an awkward stain in the dirt.” Tallianna said smirking. “You really do like joking around with people, don't you?” Zero said.
